2015 has been an amazing year of growing, connecting, learning and sharing! So much is in store for 2016, and we’re kicking off the madness with a Viral Happiness Gala Show Fundraiser!
We’ve prepared an extravaganza of entertainment for you all, with performances from some of the cream of Melbourne’s circus crop!
Over the course of the evening you will be charmed by circus, delighted by dancing and mesmerised by music! There will be raffles, competitions, prizes, as well as a few other surprises!
This event will be held at Dawson Street Studios, on the 10th of January. Doors will open at 5, and the show will start at 6! Entry will be by donation, with tiers of raffle tickets for donating above certain thresholds!
We are open to any ideas for the night! Anyone who wishes to contribute a choreographed performance or some other creative way to get involved should message me ASAP!
WHERE: 18 Dawson Street, Brunswick
WHEN: 5:00 – 10:00pm
Through the last year, we’ve seen explosive growth as more people have found a community that loves, supports, and encourages them to grow as individuals. We’ve blossomed from a small group of 30 people meeting in Melbourne parks into a massive community hell-bent on spreading the Viral Happiness!
A lot of our time over the last few months has been spent thinking about how the Viral Community should be structured to promote sustainability through all this growth. We’ve been getting ready to implement everything from Annual General Meetings, avenues for facilitating performer develepment, better equipped event spaces, and more! Viral Happiness is an amazing, infectious, snowballing movement, and we need to evolve with it!
With all of that in mind, we’re organising this event to raise the funds necessary to transform us from an aspiring social jam to a legitimate community circus movement!
Our first steps will be to invest in proper equipment for running Viral events, including an LED lit safety conscious fire space with proper dousing and dipping stations, a library of props for workshop and community use, a mobile cart that houses all of our viral equipment, and to fix our transport issue!
As some of you know, the viral van is currently out of commission. Beautiful members of the community have generously stepped up and helped us transport event gear, but as Viral’s needs as a community grow, we need to have this resource available again!
We’ve got heaps more info to get out to you all in the next week, so stay tuned!
